Tinfy , All For The Winner II ( The Top Bet [1991] ) Khmer Dubbed

English Title: All For The Winner II Khmer Dubbed [1991] Khmer Dubbed

Type: Action | Comedy | Thriller

Starring: Stephen Chow

Description

All for the Winner (Chinese: 賭聖 Literal translation: Saint of Gambling) is a 1990 Hong Kong comedy film directed by Jeffrey Lau and Corey Yuen. This is the movie that launched Stephen Chow to stardom. It is a parody of the original Dou San or God of Gamblers movie which starred Chow Yun-fat in 1989.

Sing (Stephen Chow) is a mainland China country boy who arrives in Hong Kong to visit his Uncle "Blackie Tat" (Ng Man-Tat). When Sing stays with his uncle and his friends in their apartment, Blackie soon learns of Sing's supernatural ability to see through objects and, later on, his ability to change playing cards by rubbing them. He takes advantage of this and turns Sing into the Dou Seng or the "Saint of Gamblers". After getting into a fight with several alleyway gamblers he meets the lovely Yee-Mong (lit. trans: Beautiful Dream, but euphemistically as wet dream), a henchman for the "King of Gamblers", and becomes infatuated with her. Sing quickly becomes a rival to the King and must win his way through a world competition to prove his skill.

Stephen Chow (Chinese: 周星馳, Chow Sing-Chi; born 22 June 1962) is a Hong Kong actor, comedian, screenwriter, film director, producer and political adviser of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Chow began as a temporary actor for the television station TVB.[4][5] He entered TVB in early 1980s, and was trained there, although he had few opportunities to appear in films.[4] Chow graduated from TVB's acting classes in 1982.[6] Chow began to find some success with the children programme 430 Space Shuttle,[7] which he co-hosted with Tony Leung Chiu-Wai.[8] In 1987, Chow entered into the movie industry through the film Final Justice, which won him the Taiwan Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actor.

While Chow became quite well known on TVB for his comedies (especially 1989's The Final Combat), he shot to stardom in 1990's All for the Winner. This film made him and his older sidekick Ng Man-tat two of the most sought-after stars in the Hong Kong film industry.[7] Chow would collaborate with Ng on many of his more successful comedies, including Shaolin Soccer. Chow became Hong Kong's undisputed No. 1 comedian, taking over the mantle of Michael Hui. Unlike Hui, Chow's comedies are of the mo lei tau genre. With his expert comic timing and "rubber-faced mannerisms",[7] Chow ranked alongside Andy Lau, Chow Yun-fat and Jackie Chan as the major box office draws of the 1990s.[9]

In 1994 Chow began directing films, starting with From Beijing with Love, which he co-directed with Lee Lik-Chi. In the later half of the 1990s, mainland China began to warm to Stephen Chow movies. His film duology A Chinese Odyssey (1995) became (and remains) a cult classic in mainland China, baffling many Hong Kong observers, as the duology did only moderately well in Hong Kong. Nonetheless, on the mainland Chow rapidly became one of Hong Kong's most iconic film stars. [10] In 2001 his film Shaolin Soccer grossed over 60 million HK dollars.[11] The film won Best picture, and Chow won Best Actor and Best Director at the 2002 Hong Kong Film Awards, receiving a total of seven wins from 2001–2003, including the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the Golden Bauhinia Award for Best Picture and Best Director.[12] It was his first international hit and established his reputation in the West. In 2004 he directed the film Kung Fu Hustle winning 18 awards including BAFTA Best Film not in the English Language, five Golden Horse Awards and six Hong Kong Film Awards.[1

Lawyer Lawyer [1997] Khmer Dubbed ( Tinfy )

English Title: Lawyer Lawyer [1997] Khmer Dubbed

Type: Action | Comedy | Thriller

Starring: Stephen Chow

Description

Lawyer Lawyer (Cantonese 算死草, Jyutping syun3 sei2 cou2, literally "compute death weed") is a 1997 Hong Kong comedy film produced, directed and co-written by Joe Ma.

Stephen Chow is Chan Mong-Gut, a famous Chinese lawyer, who must defend his apprentice Foon, who got framed for murder, in court. Stephen Chow stars as Chan Mong-Gut, a famous Chinese lawyer who was killed in the Qing dynasty. He must defend his apprentice, Foon, who has been framed for murder in Hong Kong. Being the third worst lawyer in China, he challenges the British legal system with no evidence on hand and manages to identify the killer in a hilarious way.

The film was released during the same year as the Transfer of sovereignty over Hong Kong. As the film deals specifically with the issue of justice, it can be interpreted as responding to the fears of the PRC takeover and to the general uncertainty of what that meant to the people of Hong Kong. The film promotes a normative vision of justice that can prevail over any tyranny, suggesting that knowledge of law, and the freedom to express it, is more important than brute strength (as embodied by the trials and tribulations of Chang Mong-Gut over countless foes).

Funny Family [1986] Khmer Dubbed

 English Title: Funny Family [1986]

Type: Action | Comedy | Thriller

Starring: Stephen Chow

Description

If you expect this movie to have a story, you will be disappointed, but if you know who the director Chu Yen-Ping is, you wouldn't have expected there to be a story in the first place. "Funny Family" is quite entertaining.

he story is non-existent and the plot is ludicrous. With that said, the fight sequences are terrific, the acting isn't fantastic, but decent for a comedy, and the characters are at the very least entertaining which I think is enough to make this movie watchable. If you think that you might watch this movie now because of what I said, just realize that the movie has a scene of kung-fu bowling, cultural jokes that would be esoteric to Western audiences, and an annoying yet catchy theme song.

This movie is almost undefinable. If you do decide to watch this movie, just realize that this is the kind of movie where you have to turn your brain off as you watch it. If you do so, you might actually enjoy watching this. Just don't expect art.

THE DIARY OF A BIG MAN Khmer Dubbed

Khmer Title: Lok Pdey KomHoch

Type: Action | Comedy | Thriller

Starring: Chow Yun Fat

Description

Abominably silly comedy from Tsui Hark’s Film Workshop casts Chow Yun-Fat in one of his most challenging roles: a bigamist who must somehow earn the audience’s sympathy. Amazingly he does it.

The problem for Chow Ting-Fat (Chow) is that he loves both women equally and cannot say no to either as both bring the proposal of marriage to him. Wife number one is Joey Wong, a boutique owner who loses Ah Fat when he goes to take care of the European stock market. Wife number two is Sally Yeh, a stewardess who loses Ah Fat when he goes to see to the American stock market. Ah Fat juggles his sweethearts with the help of pal Chi-Hung (Waise Lee).

How anyone could find hilarity in bigamy is beyond me, but eighties HK Cinema found a way. The comedy in this film is an absolute cringe-fest (think Three's Company on speed), but it is frequently funny despite tacky musical numbers and overdone acting. Strangely, one can see what made audiences flock to the theaters for these eighties screwball comedies. The situations and jokes fly fast and furious, Chow gives a game comedic performance, and the female leads are charming.

The Tricky Master [2000] Khmer Dubbed ( Tinfy )

Khmer Title: ទេវតាល្បែង ទិនហ្វី វគ្គIV

Type: Action | Comedy | Thriller

Starring: Stephen Chow

Description

Wong Jing’s Tricky Master is possibly the worst Stephen Chow film in years, which is fitting because this is really a Nick Cheung film. The popular TVB star is at his most annoying as a cop who enlists the help of Tricky Master Chow to outwit bad guy Ferrari (Wong Jing). Along the way, there are parodies of Man Called Hero, The Matrix, Bruce Lee, and just about every other HK gambling movie ever made.

Chow cruises through this movie and hits all his marks, but it’s not enough to save this overdone, totally obnoxious piece of commercial fluff. Nick Cheung needs to tone it down, and Wong Jing should stay away from both sides of the camera. Even the ace cast (Sandra Ng, Suki Kwan, Tats Lau) can’t save this turkey.

There are maybe twenty or so good jokes in this movie, but out of two hundred that ain’t so good. When you bat .100 it’s back to the minors for you. Obviously shot in a week, this movie is a creative nadir for HK pop cinema. It was also a big box-office hit, which only proves that people love Stephen Chow. Hell, I love Stephen Chow. But I didn’t like this movie. (Kozo 1999)

That night, in a brutally straightforward fashion, Lily tells Ang that she dislikes weak and pathetic men.

After being further humiliated at the sports center by Black Bear, Ang seeks shelter at a convenience shop owned by Tat (Ng Man Tat), an eccentric handicap. Tat promises to teach Ang kung fu to cure him of his weakness and cowardice, in exchange for money. However, Tat, a self-professed Sanshou master, is merely a swindler taking advantage of Ang's gullibility, and teaches Ang useless, fantasy kung fu techniques.

But to Tat's surprise and annoyance, Ang is intent on being a full-time student. When Ang loses his job and runs out of money, he tells Tat he will follow him for life. Tat attempts to rid of him by persuading him to use a false technique called "The Invincible Wind and Fire Spin," a move that would almost certainly kill or at least seriously injure anyone - which involves holding onto the enemy and rolling down a huge flight of stairs, using the enemy to soften all the blows of the stairs. Ang is considering implementing the move, but decides against it. However, he becomes reassured of this so-called technique when he witnesses Tat himself falling down the stairs and surviving it, though that was an accident. Emboldened, Ang thanks Tat and leaves.

On his upcoming birthday, as a cruel but well-executed prank, Leung and Fei will feign a lottery win worth $30 million using a useless ticket and a recorded tape bearing the lottery pick from a previous night, all as Kung's birthday present. Instead he runs afoul of Triad member Brother Smartie, who wants a game of dice. Kung easily loses $1 million, as well as $5000 to Gigi, and he relies on his "winnings" in order to pay it all back. When he finally discovers he never won the lottery (much to his shock and dismay), he decides to fake being mentally retarded, a feat which he pulls off quite well. Then he learns he gains more benefits that way, so he chooses to remain mentally ill for the time being. However, he has to learn the true meaning of life and to take what life has to offer but not ask for more.

The God of Cookery [1996] Khmer Dubbed

Khmer Title: Chong Phov Tevada

Type: Action | Comedy | Thriller

Starring: Stephen Chow

Description

The story begins in medias res, with Stephen Chow having ordered and subsequently criticized Turkey's (Karen Mok) Assorted Noodles for its lack of taste, terrible choice of ingredients and feces in the pig's colon, as she lashes out at him for his criticism towards her cooking. He tells her he is the God Of Cookery.

The God of Cookery is the story of celebrity chef Stephen Chow (the Chinese characters used for Chow's name in the movie is different from Chow's actual name), who knows very little about cooking and is willing to hawk any product for a price. The arrogant and cocky Chow is known as the "God of Cookery" and runs a successful business empire, as well as appearing as a judge for culinary competitions rigged to make him look good.

When Bull Tong (Vincent Kuk), posing as an understudy, exposes Chow as a fraud during the opening ceremony of Chow's 50th restaurant, Chow's business empire is taken away. Bull was conspiring with Chow's business partner (Ng Man Tat) to overthrow him. Ruined, Chow lives on the streets in an area known as Temple Street where the story continues with Stephen subsequently being assaulted by thugs. Two rival street vendors, Goosehead (Lee Siu-Kei) and Turkey (Karen Mok), conduct gang warfare to see which vendor can sell the two best-selling dishes: beef balls and "pissing" shrimp. Chow manages to unite the two rival vendors by combining the two dishes into a new dish, "Pissing Beef Balls", which the three of them could sell together. It becomes a huge success, and the vendors convince Chow to enroll in a culinary school in order to reclaim the title he lost, but not before he discovers that Turkey idolized Chow as the "God of Cookery", and received her scarred appearance due to her devotion. The success of the "Pissing Beef Balls" alarms Bull, the new "God of Cookery", who arranges for Chow to be assassinated on the way to culinary school. Turkey, however, takes the bullet instead, and Chow, presumed dead, disappears.
